It was more than 30 years ago when Flash Back owner Jeff Bloom restored his first piece of trim while working on his first classic car. Shortly thereafter trim restoration became a hobby and he liked the challenge of finding new ways of improving his work. He began doing trim restoration for a few friends, enthusiasts, and car club associates and found it very rewarding.
Over the years Jeff slowly began to build a reputation and realized there was a demand for his skills, so he set up shop in his garage and basement, handed out a few cards, and spent evenings and weekends polishing trim. Occasionally Jeff would set up at car shows and knock on doors to obtain more work. The demand became greater and greater and quite honestly, he was losing interest in his day job and needed something he could be passionate about. It was time to take his hobby to a new level, so he pulled the trigger and opened his first Flash Back location.
Today, Flash Back does brightwork for local hot rod and restoration shops, as well as pieces for vintage pop machines, bicycles, snowmobiles, you name it! Some of Flash Back’s work has even crossed the stages of the Barrett-Jackson auctions. With 14 years spent in the professional casting business and several years in metal fabrication, you could say Jeff has developed a close relationship with metal. People who know him will tell you Jeff is an absolute perfectionist, driven to strive for the best finishing possible.
